Lost in Stephen F. Austin’s tale for the ages is this somewhat tremendous Georgia State squad. It turns out Georgia State was severely underrated when Duke played them, similar to SFA.
These overlooked Panthers from Hotlanta were #167 when they played at Cameron and left the spoiled Duke fanbase disappointed with “only” an 11-point win.
Georgia State has skyrocketed up the college basketball hierarchy and they’re now #109, not too far behind the Miami team at #90 that the ignorant Duke fanbase was so worried about tonight.
They’re currently the best team in the Sun Belt, slightly ahead of UT Arlington at #115, and they already have a home win in hand over UT Arlington.
Georgia State is another team Duke fans should be thankful for playing already, since Duke won’t be tasked with playing them again in what could’ve been a fatal NCAA Tournament matchup.
