Player Trevon Duval

Dammit-Duval*(my name for him) made some bad decisions that cost Duke all game. Costly fouls like the jersey grab that resulted in the flagrant-1 that lost a possession, bad shots like the costly three he missed, and not distributing assists like MB3 only getting one shot the whole second half. Duke goes as he goes. He has to get guys the ball when they can score, stay out of foul trouble, and push the ball or settle the offense when it needs to set up. His play directly affects the whole team.

if he can make good decisions and play adequate on-ball D, IDGAF about the shooting. He will not turn into a 30% perimeter shooter by March - just take care of the other stuff.

I like when he cuts to the basket instead of spotting up when his man leaves him off the ball. And when he does receive a kickout to the 3pt line with no one within 10 feet of him, he should just attack the paint as fast as he can. See what happens when you're met with resistance. If they recover quickly enough, pull it out, but if you can, get yourself a layup or force another rotation. We obviously don't want him shooting, but he can't just catch and stand there doing nothing since that kills the offense.

Indeed. His speed/athletic gifts are not an asset if he is just standing there. Provided he can attack the paint w/o an offensive foul, that is precisely what he needs to do.

Saw this thread move and assumed it was news that he was academically ineligible or had left school to work with a personal trainer until the draft.

What a shithead. No effort to get others involved. Terrible turnovers or near turnovers that killed all momentum. Still jacking up terrible 3s. No effort to get back on d after his 8 turnovers.

Bobby Hurley had three 8+ turnover games his freshman year, including a game with 10 against UNC, where he only had one assist.

Presumably means we should at least pencil in the team to the NCAA championship game.

16 turnovers against State of which eight were Duval's. He stated after the game that communication was the problem. He didn't mention he suffered from cramps. Both of those issues were brought up with my wife in our last argument.
