College Basketball 2016-2017

I don't know who this guy is but he seems to have been right with the first tweet.

I have no idea why Georgetown would be interested in another hire from the Ivy League. Capel or not, they really need to go in a different direction.

A reasonably competent coach should be able to kill it at Georgetown. They're sitting in one of the best talent pools in the country, and they've got a brand new facility they paid a load of money for.

Would it be possible for Duke and Virginia to merge and have a combined team next year?

So you're saying they are due?

That year was Sam Bowie to UK, Sampson to UVa. IIRC, it was also Mark Aguirre to DePaul and Albert King (Bernard's little bro) to Maryland. Amazing recruiting class.

Duke scored foundational pieces Tom Emma, Chip Engelland, Mike Tissaw and Allen Williams. Tiers.

The Shot Doctor!

The other one was against 10 seed Davidson by one possession, iirc.

UNCW is in talks with UNC assistant, CB McGrath, for their head coach job. If this happens, I can go back to ignoring UNCW basketball like I did during the tenure of their previous UNC alum coach.

They are also talking to the coach from Florida Gulf Coast and an assistant from Arizona. Please fucking God don't hire that dumbass McGrath.

He's worked for Roy for 18 years. UNCW is fucked.

Dude doesn't even warrant a wiki page. Sad.

Bolded added to highlight relevant career high points.

A talented recruiter and tactician, assistant coach C.B. McGrath is in his 14th year at North Carolina and his 18th season as a member of Roy Williams’ staff. McGrath was a team captain in 1997-98 at Kansas and lettered in four seasons as a point guard under Williams.

In addition to his recruiting, bench coaching and scouting duties, McGrath oversees the team’s coaches clinics and its autographed basketball program, donating money annually to local charities.

Initially a walk-on, McGrath earned a scholarship prior to the start of his freshman season at Kansas. He was the top reserve behind first-team All-America Jacque Vaughn in 1994-95 and Ryan Robertson as a senior. The Jayhawks were a perfect 58-0 at Allen Fieldhouse in his career. In 97-98 McGrath was a team tri-captain.

McGrath played in 112 career games, scored 82 points, had 113 assists and 35 steals. He had a better than 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio. His first basket as a freshman came on a three-pointer at NC State’s Reynolds Coliseum. He was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.

Colin Bryan (C.B.) McGrath is a native of Indianapolis, Ind. He is one of 20 members of his family who attended the University of Kansas. McGrath attended Topeka West High School, where he earned 13 varsity letters in basketball, cross country, track and golf. He was the Kansas High School Player of the Year in basketball as a senior and placed in the top 10 in the state in cross country and golf.

He earned a B.A. in human biology and a master’s degree in education. McGrath’s wife, Kris, played tennis at KU, where she was the Big 12 Player of the Year. The couple have twin daughters, Kate and Addison, and a son, Hunter.
