Time to restart this thread.

As Dson posts below, pick your 25 names. Points are accrued by correctly guessing the death of a celebrity. For each correct death, you get the value of the difference between that person's age at time of death and 100. Thus, guessing someone close to 100 makes it more likely, but the value is lower. Guess low for huge point values even if they are unlikely. Points are accrued ONLY in calendar year 2017.

How about this:

Everyone who wants to play, post a list of 25 people for their pool. Selected persons must have a wikipedia page that's one thousand words or longer. You get (100 - age) points for every correct prediction. I'll keep tally of the scores, but it's up to everyone to announce the death of anyone in their pool.

How long would we have to compile the list? Until Jan 1st at 12:01 am? It's really hard to think of people who might die off the top of your head.

Also, what happens with people doubling up? I don't feel like people who submit their list late should be rewarded for waiting and just picking the best of everyone's lists.

My list is going to consist of 25 people who I hope die soon, that's my only criteria this time. I may sacrifice a chicken and mutter some mystical words over it before I hit the Submit button.

You can't include me, DDB - per DSon's criteria, I don't have a 1000-word wikipedia page.

toronto, since it's wikipedia, ddb could just make a page for you real quick.

I have my list already compiled. I went for a combination of the very old, people who just seem like they'll die young, and a few people I'd be happy to see die.

If anyone doesn't feel comfortable posting their list before Jan 1st, just PM it to me and post it after and i'll verify it. Hell use a spoiler tag in the PM and I won't personally even look at it.

I don't see it as that big a deal though. I mean it's not like any of us can know what "better" picks there are exactly.
