I've never been the biggest Foo Fighter guy, but this is one of the greatest rock songs of all time, imo. A masterclass in tension and release. And the way the intro and the chorus interweave at the end is just structural perfection.
I always liked the drums in the bridge - or whatever you want to call that breakdown part - how Taylor added one more component each time through to help build.
The only thing that really bugs me about the song is the vocal melody of the chorus.
That's one of my favorite parts. I normally don't like a monotone melody, but since it's screamed I think it works perfectly. And there's plenty of movement behind it between the guitars and the harmonies.
Anyone here like Elbow? My friend does sound for Lainey Wilson (a country star). They performed on Later...with Jools Holland yesterday. He posted that Elbow was also there recording this. This is fucking awesome.
