Well to be fair, in that system, Duke could've drawn Louisville earlier since it wasn't the AQ but yah.
 
Yeah, I don't think that would be too well received. But it'd be fun to watch...from a neutral perspective at least. Would suck as a fan if you're team had to play a really good team on the first day and lost.
 
IF this means getting rid of the whole bracketing non 1-seeds according to the geographical proximity principle and replacing with a true s-curve (subject to adjustments to avoid early round matchups from teams in the same conference), then cool.

I don't get why conference teams can't play each other in early rounds. If the S Curve is correct, then they should just play the friggin games. If there are going to be 16 team conferences with 8-10 bids, then let 'em play whenever. It's not 1988 anymore.
