Books

Last night I read The Innocent Man, Grisham's nonfiction. It had been sitting on my shelf for two years, then I remembered that my grandmother only gives me awesome books.

What an incredible and frustrating story to read.

Have you ever read A Civil Action? My favorite nonfiction legal book. Same deal -- incredible and frustrating.

No, but I was searching on Amazon for similar books. I'll definitely give it a look.

Finally reading Game of Thrones as my entertaining read. But wow, for a genre novel it's incredibly well written. Might be the best written fantasy novel I've ever read.
Yeah, that man can write.

So I read it this past weekend. It was very good. I've never seen the movie version.

I haven't either. Never even heard anyone say anything about it.

I'm glad you liked the book. Seems like you read it quickly.

I am loving Game of Thrones. Got much better after I got to the material I didn't know from the show (I'd seen the first three episodes or so). I just want to say though that I hate, hate, hate Sansa. That's the older Stark daughter, in case it's been awhile since you read the first book. I hope all her prissy little illusions get shattered. I also dislike her mother.

Love Arya though. One of my favorite characters. My three favorites so far are Arya, Jon, and Tyrion.

Arya is my favorite. Top three are the ones you listed. Martin is phenomenal at making you dislike a character like Sansa for being naive and girly. And where her story goes.. lol.

Finished the first book last night. So good I went out and bought the second today.

Is it wrong that I
was almost happy when Eddard Stark died? Not because I didn't like the character or think he was in the right, but because I hated Sansa so much and wanted her to suffer. I don't think that was Martin's intended effect.

Im about two hundred pages into the first. I already hate Catelyn's chapters. The only redeemable trait of them is when Baelish or Tyrion walks through her story.

Catelyn gets better. Still not my favorite by far. I don't think I'll ever forgive her for being such a bitch to Jon. You should hate Eddard for sleeping around. Don't take it out on his child, who is a lot cooler than your daughter.

That's not really a spoiler, so I'll leave it as is.

Eddard's awesome, but he was to blame. Not his son. She needs to stop being petty.

Fav characters so far:

Tyrion
Baelish
Arya

Baelish is just so damn cunning

Let me know how that turns out.

Don't worry, that doesn't imply anything that happens. :D

We need an official Board Book Club, or BBC for short. Anyone interested in a BBC?

Well, I've read the entire first book and you haven't given away anything there. She has become more likable overall, I'd say.

BTW, I'm 80 pages into the second book already.

Yeah, Sansa is so vapid and weak. The show doesn't do a good job illustrating that fact.
