College Basketball Recruiting

There certainly may have been shenanigans when he got to UK, but I don't think he needs it now.
 
Well, no coach at Kentucky really needs it. But do you think he's going to let Scott Drew, Gott, Lavin, and Howland take recruits from him, because they will still be throwing cash at kids.
 
I don't think it makes an undefeated season "very" attainable. They are gonna play 40 games if they get to the finals. 30 of those games are going to be pretty uncontested. Road games at Florida aren't easy. Plus he has to play Duke. SEC tourney. Pre season tourney's. A lot has to go right. Like literally everything.
 
I think it just underscores what he's got going there that anyone would even mention an undefeated season in the modern era, and that I'd actually think about it for more than a microsecond. This isn't a thread on IC, it's Dan Wetzel. As he states, if they land Randle and Wiggins people will be talking about it. It's a lot of pressure on a bunch of freshmen, but that's a serious team!
 
I would give them reasonable odds, like 25%, of going undefeated if their rotation is this next season:

PG Harrison / JUCO
SG Harrison / JUCO
SF Young
PF Wiggins / Lee
C Randle / Cauley

Odds of winning the national title would be comfortably over 50%.
 
If not for the buzzer beater @ IU they would have gone undefeated last season. They would not have packed it in versus vandy after wrapping up the overall #1 seed if the undefeated season had still been on the table.

If they get Wiggins or Randle next season, i'd say they have a not negligible chance. Probably somewhere between 15-25%. If they got BOTH? I'd say at least 35% and that they'd be favored comfortably over the field to win the title.

Unfortunately, there are no teams led by upperclassman Laettners or Hurleys.
 
Johnathan Williams III was supposed to decide today, he's a Top 30 PF who's looking at Tennessee, Michigan St, Missouri, and Georgetown. If he goes to Tennessee maybe that will push Nichols this way. Anyone heard anything?
 
From reading the recruiting analysts on my twitter feed it seems like his announcement is Fat Tony-esque. Video montages... ugh.
 
Apparently he randomly added a George Mason hat to that table. So strange.
 
Really thought he would pick Kentucky and then Calipari would call him and say, "Bro, we didn't even give you an offer. You can't come here."
