College Basketball Recruiting

Since Garland is gone, Jahvon Quinerly IMO is a better player than Garland and would be a great fit on next year's team.

Quinerly's mom is implicated in this shit, dude.

Duke is rightfully not touching any of those players with a ten foot pole.

Yeah, I mean, if we want to automatically disqualify ourselves from keeping any sort of title we could win when he plays, then I agree Quinerly is a terrific fit.

One interesting aspect of this is that it will probably take forever for the NCCA to sort out, but if you're one of these schools, and especially if you're a contender for this year's title, do you start kicking off the guys that got money now to avoid the potential stripped championships later? What if you know they got money but haven't (yet) been called out in the initial court docs?

The tone of this FBI presser makes me feel better about Duke's chances. Seems to be mostly about coaches accepting bribes, not kids receiving them. Yes, there are exceptions (like Bowen), but it looks like it's the coaches and outside individuals they're going after.

Slater has been talking this up for years. Not surprising in the least. Duke would be the last school implicated in this. We are Nike's cash cow and I feel like they wouldn't be this sloppy especially with Duke.

So, who all are the schools affected by these arrests? Auburn, USC, Arizona, Oklahoma State, and Louisville? Am I missing anyone?

Both USCs are mentioned. A SoCal assistant got arrested, and the clever people on the internet figured out that "University-2" or whatever the FBI called them, was South Carolina. They also figured out that another one was Miami and Lonnie Walker.
No charges filed yet against anyone at SC or Miami but lots of folks believe this is far from over. I'm guessing they're starting with the low-hanging fruit, but they're going to be pushing these people to talk on the promise of reduced charges or immunity and that's when the shit will really hit the fan.

Do they allow Pitino the courtesy of "resigning" or has he fucked their program over sufficiently that they just kick his ass out?

I think everyone expects Pitino to be gone. So to qualify as "Big. News." as Riley puts it would require Jurich to be out too, in my view.

LOL. Pitino is lucky his ass wasn't fired after HookerGate.

I absolutely believe he's a bona fide psychopath. Scary dude.

Uh oh . . .

Sources: Basketball agency ASM Sports was raided today. FBI had warrant, took Andy Miller's computer.

Looking at their website, only one current NBA player that went to Duke- Austin Rivers. And that's a good one for it to be. Comes from great wealth, stayed only one year, won nothing of significance.

Pitino may be fired by tomorrow. L'Ville will be shit this year, and UNC, who plays them on the road, will luck out yet again in scheduling.
