College football (non-Duke)

We caught a break by playing in the Coastal

Other than Clemson there's been the FSU Title and Louisville's run when Petrino inherited Charlie Strong's players, but VaTech is Duke's biggest hurdle

We finally get to play State in 2020 in Raleigh

ACC Coastal champions the last six years:

2013: Duke
2014: Georgia Tech
2015: UNC
2016: Virginia Tech
2017: Miami
2018: Pittsburgh

Six different winners. Virginia is now the only team in the division without a title. This is what mediocrity looks like.

Tuned in for the last few minutes of the UNC-State game just hoping to see the reliably traditional post-game holiday brawl. Was not disappointed. Well, maybe a slight underperformance.

Assuming Fedora is out, I have to assume they are a lock for Saban, Belichick, maybe Sean Payton? Would Payton be ok just being a coordinator? Would Urban Meyer be ready for the big stage?

I'd have to guess it will be some retread former HC who is currently a P5 assistant. I'm sure there's a bunch of them itching to reawaken the sleeping giant. Worked for us, btw, but we have reasonable expectations. Whoever it may be, it will definitely sting their fanbase that Kansas landed Les Miles right away.

It’s going to be Mack Brown

This seems like the type of move that gets Cunningham fired when Brown ultimately is let go.
This can work if the right assistants are hired. I picture Brown being more of a figure head. I can’t see this lasting more than 3-4 years. Personally I want Satterfield but I’m like 95 percent certain that the Mack Brown move has been in place since the Duke game. Chizik probably will return as his DC. We’ll see how this experiment goes.

He responded in the affirmative when someone asked if this was to get it signed.

I see Duke fans are mocking UNC football for deciding to be coached by an old dude who hasn’t done any actual coaching in about a decade

IC is living the pipe dream that Mack is going to get Kliff Kingsbury along with two of his guys from Texas Tech to deal with the offense. Rumor of a Gene Chizik return as DC

There's some rumblings that Auburn is going to fire Malzahn, hire Bob Stoops who will then hire Klingsbury. We'll see.
