Player Marshall Plumlee

He needs to stop putting the ball on the floor while in the paint. Marshall + Dribble + Paint = Turnover

205 offensive rating tonight. Let's bump up that usage from 14 --> 50 and see what happens

Marshall has scored one more point this week than he did in the 254 minutes he played during 2013-14 (second year of action).

This week: 13-14 FT
2013-14 season: 6-17 FT
First two seasons combined: 6-25 FT

Has Marshall finally figured it out?
He finally stopped trying to bring the ball down to the floor while near the basket. Today I only saw him do it once and that was to get to the paint for that awkward hook he made.
If he keeps the FTs going we maybe able to let him play at the end of games.

I'd mostly like to know which coach is responsible for this.

Over the last two games, no more spastically pathetic attempts at "post moves", just camping under the basket and going straight up for dunks.

Capel or Scheyer, who've you got?

Still a terrible defender, imo. Good in one-on-one defensive situations.

I do think being thrown into the fire has helped him.

There was one play where Ingram was being posted up one-on-one and Marshall ran across the paint to help, leaving his man for an easy dunk. So stupid on so many levels. He's just abysmal with rotations. At least he blocks shots well.

Only sucking on defense represents at minimum 50% improvement in not-horribleness for Marshall.

He doesn't completely suck on defense, just decision-making a lot of the time, and some slow rotations. He's a lot better at both challenging and blocking shots now than he was even at the beginning of the year.

Better hope that the army has a base close enough that he can commute to he Swiss basketball league Hairston is playing in, cause that's about all he'll be able to do as a pro player.

My god he's such a terrible defender still. But I could accept that if he could at least defensively rebound half as well as Zoubek did.

The gimmick of feeding the ball to Plumlee in the post so he could go straight up for a dunk worked for two games, but now the rest of the basketball world has caught on, once again rendering Plumlee less than useless.

Plumlee being too tall to be a frontline soldier means a career in intelligence is a possibility which would be something that is not good.

He handed so many rebounds right to Notre Dame. It was amazing.

This game was the perfect exemplar of why no Jefferson is killing us. Jefferson hold on to those balls and we beat Clemson and ND fairly easily, I think. Jefferson will not cover up some glaring defensive deficiencies, but would put us over the top against mediocre competition.

With Jefferson, we have one loss and are looking to be on pace for a 2-seed.

Three of our losses have been by a combined eleven pts.
