MLB

lol.

A-Rod better fucking play tomorrow. It is absolutely ridiculous people are calling for A-Rod's head but not Granderson's or Swisher's. A-Rod is getting LeBron BS right now.

With a chance to close out the series, the Tigers picked Jose Valverde over Justin Verlander for the bottom of the ninth. Verlander would have been fresh to pitch again in game one of the ALCS even if he had pitched an inning tonight. Valverde over Verlander.

Fucking Leyland...

No faith in Justin Verlander to get 3 outs without allowing 2 runs. Wanted to play it safe and keep him available for the next game in case Valverde blew the save. K would've pitched Verlander for the final 3 innings of the game, no tomorrow.

Radio should be fun tomorrow. As if people around here didn't hate Leyland enough already.

Verlander would've been such a ballsy call, but Fister or Smyly or basically anyone available over Benoit/Valverde would've been completely rational. There is no way the Tigers can win it all with those guys pitching 8 and 9. Leyland's managing is like if K kept going with Mason Plumlee to ice games from the FT line.

I hate the new playoff rules. Has made the regular season a bit less relevant...now that we have the Cards in the NLDS up 2-1, as opposed to the Braves playing in it, who, afterall, finished 6 games ahead of the Cardinals...but what the heck, why not give a team that didn't take care of business in the regular season a single-elimination game shot at a team that did.

Sorry...must admit a bit of bias here. Even so, I still don't understand the new rules.

The uneven schedule makes the playoff situation even more ridiculous. I mean, if you are in the AL west, you automatically have a better chance of winning the division because there are only four teams. Baseball, structurally, is the dumbest major sport.

I agree about the new playoff structure being stupid. That needs to be fixed ASAP. At the VERY least, should be best 2 out of 3. That, however, isn't the Cardinals fault. The Cardinals got in, they took care of business IN Atlanta, and they're bout the take care of business in Washington. They're playing arguably the best baseball of any team in the playoffs at the moment.

What up, zags? Good to have you around.

I meant to have a much much cooler first post than that. haha. I actually forgot that it was my first post.

WHAT A WASTE!!!! lol

One suggestion I heard that was pretty cool was that the wild cards would play up to 2 games, and WC2 would have to win both while WC1 would just need to win one. Kind of like the latter stages of a double elimination tournament. If WC1 and WC2 are tied, I guess they could play best of 3 with the first game determining where the next two games are played.

One part of that equation changes next season

It is a bit ridiculous that the WC winners got the NLDS home field

I don't think they have home field. The series is just 2-3 format (equally retarded)

What I mean is that the better team is only guaranteed one home game. Absurd.
