MLB

I grew up in the same town as the Mets A farm team. In '83, they went 96-43!

On that team: Mark Carreon, Dykstra (ops .975, 105 SB, flirted with .400), Randy Milligan, Jeff Bettendorf, Wes Gardner, Dwight Gooden (300 k's in 191 IP, 14.1 k/9!), Calvin Schiraldi, just to name a few. I saw Gooden strike out 19 batters in a 7 inning double header. Fucking incredible.
 
Seriously, though, it will be upsetting for the streak not only to end against the Yankees, but that it will be deGrom or Harvey taking the hit.

It's not like the NBA. If you have a good scouting department you can land a star anywhere in the first round and sometimes the second round and beyond even. The Braves have great scouts but having said all of that we suck again.

I'd rather be the worst team in the MLB for 3 years than be a middle of the pack quality club. If you're going to rebuild, then rebuild it the right way and suck all the way to the top 3 picks.
 
Orioles game is closed to public tomorrow and weekend series moved to Tampa with Orioles as the home team.

Are they going to broadcast the game tomorrow? I'd be fascinated to watch a bit of it.
 
Thought I saw earlier the fewest ever recorded for an MLB game was 18 people.

Playing games behind closed doors is a suggestion I have for sanctions against teams who have violated league rules in whatever sport. They do that in world soccer at international and club level.

Of course, these circumstances are pretty unprecedented, too. They didn't even do this for L.A. teams during the King riots, did they?
 
It's not like Camden Yards is in a terrible part of Baltimore. It must be because Baltimore can't spare the uniforms.
 
Some of this shit has been close enough to Camden Yards that the fans were trapped in the stadium on Saturday.
 
Houston Astros, winner of 10 straight, are probably the best team in baseball.

Time to trade away their future to make a World Series run this season.
 
Astros did the rebuild right, pretty much exactly how I want the Braves to rebuild.
 
Astros don't even have the best player in their franchise on the team.
