This is probably my favorite song on that mix. I have the album pre-ordered. I really can't over how perfectly structured it is.

I saw her with Hamilton Leithauser in Toronto. I did not really dig her live show, but I'll check out her studio material.

I saw her when she was touring with Hamilton as well and liked her in the studio more than her live show. I’ve also had a hard time getting into Alex G because I wasn’t impressed with his show either, but that may be caused by him opening for Hop Along and Built To Spill, both of which were 10/10.

You know this, @skins? I ended up leaving it off the mix because I had too many songs with a similar tempo and beat. But I dig it.

There is an Afghan Whigs/Built to Spill tour this spring, FYI

Yes sir, will be at the show in Carrboro.

Btw, Yo La Tengo is also touring, and in Carrboro in April also.

I saw Yo La Tengo in a classroom under the student center at William and Mary in like 90 or 91. They played with their backs to the audience.

Lol - I don't know why I felt the need to name the venue. Anyways, it was an ok show. I like their studio stuff quite a bit

Not the hugest YLT fan, so this comes with a grain of salt, but I definitely feel like they're another band who wouldn't be that great live just because of the nature of their music.

Interesting. I actually enjoy them much more live.

With all this Pixies/Yo La Tengo/Built to Spill chatter going on, maybe it's a good time to offer a pic of the stack of 20-plus-year-old CMJ CDs that I dragged out of a closet I was painting this weekend. I haven't listened to these things in years, but they have followed me through four moves. IMG_1364.JPG
