Player Tyus Jones

To me, he was our biggest loss for next year. I just feel like we never would have lost an important game with him as a sophomore.

I always think back to Klahn's comment about how absolutely disgusting the effort level would be if these guys all stayed for four years. It brings me such bizarre joy to imagine Tyus, Okafor and Winslow as seniors, literally chatting with each other about the weekend as Tyus brings the ball up court and squatting with their eyes closed on defense to rest. K would be kind of mad about this effort level that leads to being barely #1 on offense and in the 250-300 range on defense, but K wouldn't mind too much, knowing it wouldn't matter in the end. Then they win their 4th consecutive national title with 1.6 PPP on offense and 0.4 PPP on defense throughout the NCAA Tournament, with an average margin of victory of 80 points. This after losing in the first round of the ACC Tournament to Clemson by 30.

Thank god we have this guy keeping america safe

To the D League. Much better than being the scoring and assist leader on a national title favorite.

Yeah - Tyus had some end of game minutes earlier on this season. Nothing substantial, that is for sure.

Who would have thought that Quinn Cook would average 5pts and 2 assists on 50/42 shooting this year in the NBA while Tyus averaged 4pts and 3 assists on 36/30 shooting?

Love both champions but I am not sure which is more surprising - how well Quinn is doing or how poorly Tyus is doing...

Sure glad he went pro as a borderline first round pick. Sure glad none of our other guards will do the same thing and languish on a bench in the same way. With him on the roster these last two years, I think we're in the Final Four both years and possibly have another title.

I'm not sure which part of that is supposed to be surprising. That Quinn is a better shooter and scorer than Tyus? That Tyus gets more assists than Quinn?

You are correct, I focused on the wrong stuff - that Quinn is actually in the league averaging 14mpg and that Tyus is only averaging 15mpg. The shooting/assists distinction is not really surprising.

I feel like this is the definitive tweet on where Tyus Jones stands in his pro career:
