Not a classic or anything, but a fun game to rewatch. Chris Paul vs. Luol Deng.

Duke won this game 120-84. Lol.

UCLA was ranked #12.

Brand's first game in two months! 14 and 7 in 16 minutes is a nice way to come back from a broken foot.

That squad, with Brand still limited coming back, was playing Golden State Warriors ball 17 years ago. The starters -- Wojo/Langdon/Carrawell/McLeod/Battier went 12/20 from three-point land this game.

Langdon had 21 in the first half. Haven't watched the second half yet, so I'm not sure what he ends up with for the game.

Rowe is saying Pelicans are close to offering Seth a guaranteed contract. Really happy about that.

Still pissed that Steph didn't strong arm GS into giving him a roster spot last season, when James fucking McAdoo was able to get one.

Awesome news re: Seth. He's certainly earned it this year/summer.

It's fun watching that game through the lens of how we play today. McLeod was born about 15 years too early - he's a freaking perfect modern PF. Battier and Carrawell too, obviously - even Mike Chappell, shooting 38-43% from 3 at 6'8-6'9. I even thought Burgess looked like a pretty ideal center in the few minutes I watched.

Ricky Price, OTOH, would have rode the bench as a freshman before transferring to St. John's or something.

I remember that UCLA game. Leading up to it, the media had been asking Lavin how he thought they could slow down Duke, and he got defensive and said something like, "We're not afraid to run with Duke." Oops.

Dick V screaming 'Don't leave that man open!'

Nice to see Dre have a big game to finish off the summer league -- and his teammates seemed to be happy for him, too.

He played in 4 games for Miami. I'm guessing he was in the D-league the rest of the year.

Still don't understand how a guy can be so fast end-to-end and so slow laterally.

He also had two 10-day contracts with the Boston Celtics, which they actually used only to have him play with their D-League affiliate (rather than the D-League team he'd been on), which was a bit weird. I think Stevens was interested in checking him out and seeing him in the Celtics offense (which the Maine Red Claws also run). Anyway, it got Andre some more money (about 60K from the two 10-days), on top of his prorated minimum deal from his half season under contract with the Heat (about 200K).

I still have a soft spot for the guy.

He never lived up to his potential, but it was fun watching him when he was hot.

Also helped us win a title. That mostly absolves him of being so damn inconsistent and frustrating to watch.

I can't believe Seth Curry would be less valuable than guys like Dion Waiters, Mike Miller, Kostas Papanikolaou and Tony Parker.
