Duke Recruiting General Discussion

I don't mind seeing K go after 3 bigs in a class. He seems to have learned that assuming he'll go 2 for 2 or even 1 for 2 in top 10 big men every year is stupid. Diallo, Ellenson and Jeter are 5, 7 and 9 overall on Scout. Diallo is only 6'9" 210 and listed as a center so I assume he's a multi-year guy.

Strengths
Athleticism
Shot-Blocker
Traffic Rebounding

To Improve
Ability to Create
Go-To-Move
Size for Position

That is the absolute perfect Duke center. I wouldn't rather see any of those strengths or weaknesses swapped out. Defense, rebounding, no reason to ever think about creating his own offense, multi-year guy.

I'd trade Jeter for Diallo and not think twice. The attitude Diallo has is basically perfect. Craves improvement, humble and listens well to coaching, desperate to prove how good he is, plays with a constant chip on his shoulder. Some of the stories Slater has on him at 247 are awesome.

That's cool...but I'm not joining 247.

What happened to their February board upgrade?

So, Wojo got Ellenson's older brother to transfer to Marquette from Minnesota for hoops? And he'll have to years of eligibility, starting the year Henry is starting college?

Oh. okay.

Similar to the Plumlee procedure.

#1 SF, #4 overall in 2015 on Scout. Suddenly the 2015 target class looks like Kennard, Jeter, Diallo, Brown. All should end up top 10.

2015 is overwhelmingly the year of the Ja(y)len in HS athletes, just as 2012 or 2013 was the year of the Shaq. But what did Jalen Rose do in ~1997? He was averaging 7PPG off the bench for the Pacers. This puzzles me.

Diallo also just seems like the perfect attitude/personality to mesh with K's style. That sort of manic intensity usually thrives at Duke.

Jaylen Brown looks scary. Like a longer/more agile Stanley Johnson.

K is going balls out, perhaps literally, for talent now. He doesn't seem to care about having a good mix of multi-year guys and a single one and done star anymore. He's out in a few years.

96% of the crystal ballz have him Duke bound, the rest: Oregon. Which I guess didn't even make the top two?

Rowe hasn't changed his mind but i'll believe we'll beat 'Zona for a west coast kid when I see it.

You mean "public," right?

I do like that he's sticking to the summer schedule. That seems good for us. Sure we heard June or something a while ago, but I was worried when I heard he was pushing it back to the start of basketball season.
