Player Jahlil Okafor

Only fair he gets a platter of corn dogs with that jersey

Okafor is #1 on Chad Ford's big board.

As we learned with Joel Embiid, size eventually outweighs just about everything else come draft time. At 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-5 wingspan and 9-foot-3 standing reach, Okafor is absolutely massive. And he has enormous hands and quick feet for a player his size to boot. As a true low-post player with a fairly sophisticated low-post game for his age, Okafor will no doubt intrigue whatever team ends up picking first. But despite his size, Okafor lacks elite athleticism and typically plays below the rim. If he were a better athlete, and if he were in better shape, he'd be a lock for the No. 1 pick. As it stands, he'll likely be the focal point of Duke's offense this season, which should give him plenty of chances to outshine any concerns about his game. If the team drafting No. 1 is in need a center, Okafor is a lock for the job.

Ugh. Looking forward to K changing his elite offense this year to be dominated by the least efficient offensive play in the game.

Awesome article. Also, this made me laugh:

"I like DeMarcus Cousins, and I think I play just like him," Stone says. "Back to the basket, but with quickness, and lateral movement, and jumping. I think we're exactly alike. At least on the court. Not off the court."

Jahlil's All-Time NBA starting five

Stockton
Jordan
Lebron
Garnett
Shaq

Not bad.

That Shaquille dunk and shove was awesome
The didn't even show the best part of that play. IIRC Dudley took exception to the shove, grabbed the ball, and fired it at Shaq who had his back turned.

Literally nobody at Duke is trying to lower expectations.

The first of what will likely be several preseason NPOY nods for Okafor. Quite bold given his impending foot injuries.

TBH, I am a believer like I was that Brand would win a title as a sophomore.

If you don't want to feel dumb for being a fan of college basketball, avoid reading what the vast majority of college basketball fans think. I don't get why the fanbase is so much dumber than for pro teams.

I dunno, RealGM is pretty dumb. Or just type "MJ"/"Kobe" into twitter after a good LeBron game and you'll see some shit.

Seth Davis picking two Wisconsin players to be All-Americans is ridiculous. It's a raw-numbers award and Wisconsin doesn't play games fast enough to have two guys with the requisite raw stats.
