One of my favorite songs released this year. @best4heisman, you might like this if you haven't already heard it. It reminds me of Okkerrvil River for some reason, especially their more "rocking" songs like "For Real."

Yea, definitely one of my favorites from this year as well.

I find this song to be really infectious.

Really loving the new Jens Lekman. Surprised I'd never heard of him before this newest release.

My old band with original, awesome drummer, is getting back together. I'm so excited.

Good stuff, Farmdog. Here is a song for your weekend:

Our original guitarist has been playing in a side project with an actual sound engineer who produced and toured with some fairly major acts. He randomly moved to the beach a few months ago. We are going to be practicing with things like 8 drum mics, around 15k of monitors/Mac/pro tools set up and he is going to mix down everything after we practice.

Short story, I will be uploading all kinds of awful music on this thread for you guys to tear apart.

Been really behind on new stuff lately. This is one of my faves, and one of the only Jens Lekman song I knew before Best's link. I'll have to check out the new album.

Speaking of Swedish indie pop, I saw a great show last night by Radio Dept. Will post some photos and music later. The openers, Germans, were also quite good. Had a little bit of a Morcheeba or Esthero vibe.

I record in fits and starts because it's such a brutal process, since I have to play everything myself and do it in the rare moments of silence when the family's away from the house. I started working again on some stuff a couple weeks ago. Meanwhile, I have a woefully deserted bandcamp page, but I'm not sure I'm man enough to post a link.

Damn, the Radio Dept. played at Cat's Cradle but for some reason I didn't end up going. I did go see Hamilton Leithauser two weeks ago and Japandroids last week, both of which were fantastic live.

Skins, I also went to see Hamilton Leithauser & Japandroids recently. Hamilton's voice is pretty damn powerful live. I have seen him with the Walkmen (in a bigger concert hall) and solo in a small room (Drake Hotel).

Craig Finn opened for Japandroids but I missed his set (arrived later than intended).

I spent all day listening to Spoon today. I love them and I don't even know why.

Also, this is comedy gold:
