Hood, if he stays healthy, could turn into a valuable and well-paid player in this league, and soon. If Khris Middleton can get a 5-year, $70 million deal, anything can happen, right?
Obviously, Rodney was a rookie last year and got off to a slow start. His post-All-Star game numbers, though, compare fairly well with Middleton's year-round numbers:
Khris Middleton (6'7", 225 lbs): 30.1 mpg, .467 FG, .409 3PT, .859 FT, 13.4 pts, 4.4 reb, 2.3 asts, 1.5 stl, 1.4 to
Hood, post-AS (6'8", 215 lbs): 24.1 mpg .464 FG, .420 3PT, .814 FT, 11.8 pts, 2.2 reb, 2.1 asts, 0.8 stl, 1.0 to
Basically, anyone who has good height for their position and can shoot 40% from outside the arc should be able to get paid these days. Hood, as a playble two-guard who can also slide down, fits that to a tee.
