NBA

Of all MVP candidates the last ~5 years, Embiid is the last one I'd want on the floor in a high-stakes moment in a playoff game.

He's so unreliable (I know he is coming off injury, but nevertheless).

I hate to be a crank, but you gotta come out of the game for this right?

They need to change the rules so that misses from beyond midcourt at the end of any quarter/half don't count, in the same way they don't if you're fouled. I don't even see what the argument this unequivocally positive change would be.

I assume it's related to the flagrant foul they called on him where he tackled Mitchell Robinson's legs while he was jumping. But I guess this video was all from last night?? I didn't watch any of the game aside from coming across the flagrant foul on twitter's trending topics.

All from last night. There was no circumstance in which he was going to be ejected.

It's a rough one right now for the league. We're (still) on a slow death march to a Celtics/Nuggets final. LeBron is about to be out. Steph is out. The only other two players that casual sports fans have heard of--Kevin Durant and Grayson Allen--might also be out in a few days. There is very little else to get excited about, so they need 7 games out of Knicks/Sixers. That means whoever looks like they are in trouble is going to get help. Complaining about it is not worth it.

First round of the west is turning out to be all duds. Suns and Lakers getting swept. Clippers and Pelicans are nonthreatening because their best players are once again injured (I know Kawhi played but he looked like shit).

Suns are the team furthest away from winning a title in the entire league. Another new owner trying to make a splash immediately and closing the team’s title window for the next 5-10 years. With trash tier franchises like the Pistons and Hornets, at least there’s a ton of cap flexibility and young, cheap assets.

Also, RIP Phoenix.

May their epitaph read "At some point in July before the Beal trade, dipshit gamblers thought they this team had the third-best odds of winning the title."

Edwards has already overtaken Tatum in most casual fans’ minds based on what he has done in a single 1st round series, and if the Celtics lose one of these games in Miami, you’re going to see a unanimous mainstream opinion form very quickly that Edwards is better, now and forever.

Tatum is arguably the most disrespected player in all of sports relative to how good he actually is. If he doesn’t win the title this season, with the softest path possible, Boston is going to want him traded, and lynched.
