Good news for us liberty lovin' North Carolinians - there's a bill going through that would allow carrying concealed weapons without a permit. Yay, no more silly safety class requirements, since we are all born with the instinctual ability to just KNOW how to safely handle a firearm. And this would in no way create additional burdens or personal safety issues for law enforcement, they're trained to be able to tell the difference between good guys and bad hombres at a glance.
Added bonus, it lowers the age for concealed carry from 21 to 18. We're all going to be so much safer here, once all the untrained 18 year olds are wearing 9mms stuffed in their pants.

Carrying concealed gun without a permit? NC bill would allow it
The day after passing the Bill that would allow guns in churches that meet on school property, too............

I wish one could read this entire article and wait until the end for the mug shot instead of it being right at the top.

For the others:

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Jacob Pauda, 31, was found guilty of domestic violence and sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday, according to CBS affiliate KLBK-TV.

Last week, Pauda was convicted of violently assaulting his pregnant girlfriend in February 2016, according to police reports.

He reportedly chased her with a butcher’s knife.

“[Pauda] then ran towards [the victim] with a closed right fist punched [her] repeatedly an unknown amount of times on the left side of [the victim’s] face,” according to the police report.

The victim was able to call her mother to come get her. But then Pauda became violent again.

According to a police report, the victim said the suspect “slammed her into the metal objects approximately 5 times.”

The victim quoted Pauda as admitting he did “two bumps” of cocaine before the violent assault.

The victim bailed out Pauda from jail about two months before; she was pregnant and Pauda knew that according to the police report. He also knew he was the father.

Pauda went to trial before a judge instead of a jury. The judge found that Pauda used a deadly weapon and there was bodily injury. The judge also ruled that Pauda was previously convicted of aggravated assault which was a factor in the sentencing.

He was probably just frustrated because he was having a hard time finding employment.

A few years back, Arkansas had a state legislator pass a bill that would allow faculty and staff to conceal carry on state university campuses, but the schools' boards could decide to opt out. Every school opted out and kept a complete ban on firearms. So this year, that same legislator introduced a bill that doesn't allow the schools to opt out. All state universities are required to allow faculty and staff to conceal carry. The SEC commissioner had to come out and ask the state to add campus sporting events to the exemption list on the bill.

Gun nuts are the worst.

I remember hearing about that. Guns and football. Can't imagine what could possibly go wrong.

Breaking News: Stunning announcement - Barry Manilow Is Gay

Were there people who didn't know this already?

Anyone who would write and perform "Copa Cabana" would have to be gay, and everyone knew it. Okay, maybe there was a 55 year old housewife in Oklahoma who didn't get that, but she's the only one.

Also, coming out way back in the 80's didn't seem to wreak havoc with Elton John's career.

Since we're on the subject of manilow, here is my Barry manilow story.

Back in the summer of 1987, 19 year old your's truly took a job parking cars at EPCOT in Orlando for the summer. I parked cars in the big lots, drove the trams, but also got to work the VIP lot after a few months because Corporate quickly realized I was not your typical parking lot attendee in Central Florida (this is post Crack Florida).

Many celebs came through the lot, mostly entertainers/musicians, but the random NBA player with his family would come too. Anyway, one of the Disney Veterans on the VIP lot got to show Barry Manilow around.

This is how big of a dick Barry Manilow is. Any ride he went on, he forced Disney to empty his train/boat/whatever, the train/boat/whatever in front of his train/boat/whatever and the one following his. In the middle of summer.

He is a giant, giant asshole.
