Player Quinn Cook

Two weeks after Cook's father, Ted, died of cardiac arrest in 2008, Quinn Cook sat with DeMatha coach Mike Jones watching film. On every trip down the floor, the camera caught the image of Ted Cook in the stands at DeMatha, wearing his hallmark gold LA Lakers sweatshirt. When Jones looked at Cook to make a point, Cook was staring straight to the ground. “We immediately stopped watching,” Jones said. “I felt so bad.”

If nothing else goes right for Duke tonight, at least give us Quinn Cook's best game.

Quinn Cook might be a phenomenal leader, I don’t know. But he’s by far my least favorite player. Maybe it’s because he chose to go with the electric socket look with his hair. Maybe it’s because in the closing seconds of the Utah game, when Duke was clearly gonna win and advance to the Elite 8, which should have been a joyous occasion, he had the ugliest, most pissed off look on his face that I’ve ever seen a human being make. Maybe it’s because he kind of mumbles when he talks, like he’s upset about having to speak every single word that he utters.

You may naively think after reading some of my previous posts that this is all because he’s black. Nah. I love Nigel Hayes. I think Tyus Jones is cute as a Pound Puppy. No real feelings about Winslow aside from the fact that it scares me he’s so poised and physically mature as a true freshman. It’s just Quinn and his hideous mean mug that bothers me. Maybe people named Quinn are just destined to unpleasant sufferers of an early demise. Farewell and adieu to you readers of this post. Farewell and adieu, all you readers in Spain…

Running of the 5 minute mile is fantastic; further testimony to how hard Q has worked leading up to his senior year.

"I don't hate blacks. As evidence of this, I will compare one black kid to an animal and call another black kid scary."

Watching him win this game is the most gratifying moment of my life as a sports fan by far.

I want to apologize to Quinn for all the hate I've directed at him in his first 3 years at Duke. This has been one of the more memorable "senior growth curves" I've ever witnessed.

Is there a player in Duke history whose banner RPI is as high as Quinn's?

So happy for him. Nolan Smith. Quinn Cook.

Needs the Russell Westbrook 2-year plan. (RW averaged 9 minutes, 3.4 points as a frosh)

Incredible. Two most important Duke players of the last 10 years. Truly flagship guys for our program.

I am so glad that Nolan can pass the torch to Quinn.

Absolutely - great ambassadors for Duke Basketball

While riding the elevator with Nolan today, I said I loved what Quinn has done with Nolan's number. Nolan, "Yeah, when they win tonight, they should retire it."

Love those guys.

Nolan and Quinn are brilliant and I am very happy to watch them both make their legacy @ Duke U
