How is that pronounced? Is it like wife-oo or wafe-oo? I hate trying to decipher the Wiktionary's pronunciation key. I think it's ridiculous in this day and age that every article doesn't have a little sound clip to tell you how to pronounce it.

It's wife-oo, I think.

If it has really been 3 years since the last price increase, this seems fine. Annoying that their new 4-way split-screen "multiview" isn't widely available in time for the NCAAT. That feature alone is worth quite a bit to me for sports watching.

I just got an email that I was selected to try multiview early.

They just announced Multiview is available to everyone now. People were rightfully pissed that YouTube would do a gradual unveil starting on the week when it would be most useful.

I don’t think I’ll use it much. I tried last night and it was smooth and novel, but I remembered there’s a reason I wanted a big screen. YouTube makes it so easy to switch back and forth between 3-4 games because of how smart the Home menu is that I’d rather just pick the game I’m most interested in at any given moment and watch a big version of it.

Yeah this might force me to get a giant TV. I'm dealing with a 55" right now. The irony is I do like 90% of my TV watching on my phone these days. Not even including the porn.

It looks to me like it's not really multiview where you can pick which games/channels to watch together. Or am I just doing it wrong?

This is going to be something once Sunday Ticket is on. It may end my addiction to Red Zone.

Yeah I couldn’t customize mine either, was just presented the option of watching Xavier/KWST alongside MSU/USC. This was several hours ago however.

Is that like an airline cutting down on leg room so they can undercut competitors on price? Who would ever do that?
Not quite, because users aren't being offered a monetary incentive (nor any other benefit) as a trade off for the worse product.

I don't really buy this being a response to Substack Notes (well, I guess the timing is close enough that it's fishy so maybe I should say I don't understand it). Is there a remotely meaningful chance of that taking off and replacing Twitter? It'd take a lot of traction for that to happen, and it'd probably be reliant on the product being better, not Twitter failing to prevent links to it which many would probably think makes Twitter a worse product and Notes comparatively better.

I wonder if this change might be motivated more by wanting content itself to exist on Twitter? Just a thought though from someone who feels entitled to free content and gets annoyed by attention-grabbing teasers where the substance is hidden behind a paywall.
