This Day In History

Sunday’s date is a ubiquitous palindrome date: 02/02/2020.

Ubiquitous in this instance has been used to describe that no matter how a culture writes the date, it remains a palindrome — it reads the same backward and forward — and may be celebrated around the world on the same calendar day...

The eight-digit palindrome date is distinct from a four-digit pattern because it won’t happen again. A date with the year written with two digits, instead of four, will repeat each century.

An eight-digit ubiquitous palindrome date will happen only 11 times in the years between 1000 and 9999.

It’s also palindrome day of the year (33) and days left in the year (333), which will apparently never happen again.

The last Palindrome Day was also 909 years ago, which itself happens to be a palindrome.

Some cool stuff happened on May 4th:

I clearly remember spending all day downloading "Bohemian Rhapsody" on Napster in college. It literally took like two hours on dial-up, and if you got disconnected you had to start over.

Beyond that, I remember looking at a lot of thumbnail porn images. Even those took like 1-2 minutes to load. Made jerking off difficult.
