Our newest member, dkst0426, accurately pointed out that we do not have an indroductions/getting to know you thread. This thread will serve that purpose. Feel free to share as much or as little as you want.

I'll start.

I'm Zack. I live in Michigan and am a recent graduate of Western Michigan University. I work as a Product Development Engineer. I am really good at volleyball. My hobbies include photography, carpentry, and DIY electronics.

My name is Pantone. I'm 27, went to UVA but remained loyal to Duke. I am currently in Durham, where I grew up. Everyone here hates me because I like country music and Dukenukem and Johaad think I'm a toothless, 500 pound Italian.

Goat massaging, elderly herder.

Me: Went to Duke, moved around a bit until I returned to the Triangle so I could regularly make it to games in Cameron. Hate country music. Occasionally practice law.

Barely on the right side of 40, moved to the US at 18, graduated Mother's Day '96 from Methodist with a year at Duke sandwiched in between. Began a career arc from there that's taken me to the streets of NYC to the Smoky Mountains to mid-state South Carolina, and then finally back here to the Triad. Married, 4 kids (all 5 and under LOL).

I like candlelight dinners followed by walks on the be........oh crap, wrong thread.

My teams: Manchester United, Duke, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Braves, English and US national soccer teams.
If the survival of mankind depended on a game involving these teams, I would drop to my knees and prepare for the Second Coming: Carolina, Liverpool, Manchester City, Argentina, the Yankees, pretty much all Philadelphia teams, the Mets, and the Buccaneers.
Hobbies/favorites: Pearl Jam, Johnny Cash, U2, the Beatles, Star Wars, Godfather, Hong Kong Triad films, Anne Hathaway, superhero and disaster movies, photography, video editing.

I'm the grand old man of TDF. College tramp/drop out. Live at the beach, married, no kids, 2 dogs, a cat. Play in a band. Have recently left my surf shop in order to open a surf school/coffee shop/deli/convenience store/beach rental business that will either bankrupt me or make me rich.

I like Duke and the O's. I'm more attached to "stars" than I am "teams" in pro sports since free agency and franchise movement affect my rooting interests from season to season.

I surf, run, play music, eat vegan and prefer game chats.

My name is Jerome, but I'm not black or Jewish. I'm a 29 year old medical physicist in Northwest Arkansas. I grew up in Arkansas, went to undergrad at Arkansas Tech (Go Wonderboys) and grad school at Duke before moving back to Arkansas. My wife and I are DINKs, so things are good right now. We met in the worship band in undergrad, and we still play together at church. She sings and plays piano/keys. I play drums. Started off on guitar but both my dad and older brother played, so I moved to bass. Then when I came to this current church, they had a bass player but no drummer, so that's what I'm doing now.

I don't know that I have much else in the way of hobbies besides playing and following sports or playing music. I'm pretty much a homebody and would be anti-social if I wasn't married to a social butterfly. I like to read cheesy crime fiction or sci-fi. I hate fantasy fiction. *ETA* I can't believe I forgot post-apocalyptic lit. Love that stuff.

An odd tidbit about me is that I really have no desire to visit cities - domestic or foreign. I don't like the large crowds. I would much prefer to spend some time in the Appalachians or Yosemite as opposed to NYC or Rome or something like that. But I would rather just save my money and not visit anywhere. I'm cheap.

Baned with extreme prejudice.

Duke grad
Married, 3 kids 6,4,2
Dreaming of the day a few years from now when NOD needs his colonoscopy
Seats in Section 10
Mets fan (Braves fans shouldn't hate Mets fans, they should pity them)
Unlike physics, I love cities (and running water)

Went to Duke, just turned 30, occasionally pretend to be both and adult and an engineer here in cloudy San Diego. I like to race radio control cars, watch all Duke sports when possible, binge-view whatever great shows that "you people" recommend, and read entire books from front to back, in that order. Panthers, Canes, Padres (welp), and follow select stars and former Dukies in the NBA. Nukem and I are NOT Eskimo brethren. Confirmed. I've probably seen McBoberts naked. Edens was strange like that.

Funny enough, I despise camping. When I go to those places, I must stay in a cabin with a shower, A/C, and preferrably TV/the internets. I'm delicate. I am not an outdoorsman; I just like to be surrounded by the outdoors as opposed to people.

I will say this much: most of my contempt for the Mets had to do with Shea. I haven't been back to Queens since the new ballpark opened, but anything's an upgrade. I mean, Shea made the old DAP seem high-end.

And I can definitely go the entire rest of my life without hearing that infernal "Meet the Mets" jingle on WFAN.

As much as johaad loves you, I think I hate you.

j/k. maybe.

Born and raised in Johnston County, North Carolina on a tobacco farm in the woods. Where my overalls with one flap down and my corn cob pipe loose at the end of my mouth.

I now live in Charlottesville, home of the Pantones, where I produce, direct, write, edit, and film mini docs and concerts. I currently have a PBS show featuring my work and occasionally others. My wife and I are working on moving back to the triangle to be with our families and friends. I attended Elon, much to my fathers chagrin (basically the black sheep of the family that didnt go to Duke) where I won some national awards that Id really like to use to land me a job at Duke.

Also, TDD thinks I shoot porn (apparently Leesville did too, for a bit)

Also, also, im a big Arsenal and Cubs fan. Dont have an NBA or NFL team

Sorry, man. If I hadn't been a Braves fan before moving to New York, I wouldn't have quite the dislike.

I did tell John Franco it was an honor to meet him when he came to visit the firehouse during my shift one day, though. Does that redeem me some? :P

You still have some work to do. Never a big fan of John Franco.

Recent graduate of the high prestigious (jk) Campbell University. I love science and hate cancer. Working in a Duke research lab studying inflammatory bowel disease and cancer. Living in Raleigh and after 4 years in Buies Creek this place seems like Heaven. Hopefully I'll end up with a PhD and research at an academic university before the age of 35. Also, I'm starting up a non-profit foundation to provide financial assistance to the families of children undergoing cancer treatment.

I like sports, except for baseball and non-international soccer. The only sport I play post-highschool/college is ultimate frisbee. I'm 6'8.

Dude, I had Hirschsprung's.

The video will be more of a documentary short that a feature film.

Left your surf shop?!?! I was planning some vandalism next time I was near the OBX... too soon? ;)

Ten years from now I'll be your coffee barista when I am unemployed and homeless.
