[2017-18] Phil Knight Invitational / at Indiana

Line creeped up from -2 to -2.5 in the last three hours. That's potentially how many free throws Bolden takes in this game.

I thought they were making some smart passes all night, save for one homerun throw in the 1st half.

Most turnovers seemed to be in the paint. FLA did a good job on Grayson, Trent and Tre on drives into the lane. Bottled them up much more effectively that I thought they would.

Kind of bullshit scheduling that this team has to play a game AT Indiana on Wednesday on essentially two days rest. Indiana will have been off since last Friday

Florida was up 74-57 with 10 minutes left then Duval hit a unicorn corner 3 and Bagley had that unicorn out of bounds save.

Florida significantly slowed it down after that to try to run clock which ended up being fatal for them. Allowed our d to be set and bigs be in position to rebound. At that point we had been outrebounded by 3. There were zero transition buckets by Florida after that point.

Gray Trent ripping that rebound away at 1:53 was huge. 4 point swing. Also after tying the game at the line off the first free throw you can see him yapping at Chiozza. Like I’m about to steal your chick.

Florida scores 10 points in the last 10 min of the game because they played stall ball. Always knew stall ball was a coaching maneuver of idiots.

This would’ve been a very fun tournament to watch as a Duke fan who doesn’t GAF about predictive stats and garbage like that. 2 monster comebacks against a good team and a great team. Bagley dominating in every way you can see without trying to analyze defense. Duval and Trent whipping out giant dicks when it matters.

Every one of the 4 projected lottery picks going into the season is living up to it in some way or another. Bagley obviously. Carter looks like an automatic 15-year player with fringe all-star potential for several of those years. Duval, when not doing the dumbest thing possible for most of the game, is eating up far less talented guards on offense and defense; has to put it together mentally. Trent has a high ceiling at a clearly defined NBA position; should be able to guard any NBA SG and has 40/90 potential 3pt/FT.

Portland St may turn out to be a pretty good team that we beat. After losing to Duke they lost to Butler by just 2 and then beat Stanford by 9.
