By adjusted efficiency margin, Houston is a top 3 opponent for Duke in the past 10 seasons, to go with 2019 Virginia (national champions) and 2015 Wisconsin (national runners up).

Jon Scheyer, born on 3rd base, will be coaching with a significantly worse roster than his opponent for the first time in his career. Time to see whether he has it or not.

Miami beat Houston 89-75 in the S16 last year and played a similar style to this Duke team. I hope the staff spends the next 5 days poring over that tape.

Yep. 1 seed Purdue in the Elite 8 as we were a 2 seed.

I don't expect that to change. But as a fan, being the lower seed takes some of the pressure off. I was not nearly as bummed about the 2016 loss to Oregon as I was about most of our other Sweet Sixteen losses.

10 Final Fours in 19 years from 86-04. 17 Sweet 16s from 86-06. 9 straight from 98-06. Just a machine at his peak.

Lose a close game to a tough Houston team and I'll be pretty encouraged going forward.

That Oregon game was competitive for large stretches. That's all I ask for here. Probably won't happen since this Houston team is far better than that Oregon team. Granted, that Duke team was also much worse than this Duke team statistically. But we had the best player on the floor in Ingram. Not sure we'll be able to say that about any of our guys on this roster.
