My favorite bit of delusion from Louisville fans in recent months was that some of them thought Jay Wright could be lured to Louisville because UofL's current interim AD used to work at Villanova. It's a crazy notion to even type out, but some folks seemed to really believe it was possible. There was also a very brief movement to bring Pitino back.

In any event, those people now have to learn to love Kenny Payne.

Payne is 55, and has never been an HC. That’s an… uninspired hire. Louisville definitely feels like a dying program.

I will earnestly root for them to give hope to the theory that the ACC was just particularly weak at the start of the season. Also, UVA's offense is horrendous but I do enjoy watching Beekman on defense. He's so good.

Wake and Virginia both win their NIT openers, making the mighty ACC 2-0 in post-league play. All eyes now on Notre Dame tonight and UNC tomorrow.

This is almost certainly happening now too, and KU might be able to pad a fat little lead over the next decade if Self and Calipari remain in place.

The 9-16 season really hurt them. I suspect around 2015 or so Kentucky must have at least had a lead in the 20s or 30s
