I think his decline was caused by two factors: the national backlash received from his trips and being expected to defer to one-and-done freshmen his upperclassman years.
Not a good sign for his pro prospects then, cause if he hopes to make a roster he'll also be deferring to a bunch of superior basketball players.
Came an inch away from hitting what would've been the second-biggest shot in program history. Great career. I don't have anything negative to say about him right now. He couldn't hit a shot today, but that's how it goes sometimes.

I mean, I guess you could say "very good" if you prefer that. He's obviously not going to have his jersey retired, nor is he in the tier right below the jersey retirees with Scheyer and Singler. I'd put him right below those guys, alongside Quinn and Mason Plumlee. He's unique in that his greatest success was in his first two seasons, but that shouldn't diminish what he accomplished.Came an inch away from hitting what would've been the second-biggest shot in program history. "Great"? Really? Great game against Wisconsin, maybe a great single season sophomore year, but I think too many Duke players performed better over 4 years to define Grayson's career alongside them.
