David Wright with the most important hit of the season, so far.

They kept a worse fielding, worse hitting version of Davis instead.

Soler Power is struggling this year as my prime hitters (Braun, Harper, Adam Jones, Pence, Segura) are struggling while I've had 8 pitchers hit the DL (Medlen, Chapman, Robertson, Janssen, Paxton, Latos, Kelly, Niese)

I'm stuck with a Mets game on at the restaurant I'm at. My wife like person can't stop talking about how fat and apathetic Bartolo Colon is. He does make for good TV. His at bats are epic.

Heard his helmet flew off with every swing. Surprised his fat didn't fling him to the ground with all that momentum.

Ike Davis has a double and two runs scored through the 5th inning.

Duda got thrown out at home.

Big Mets fan sigh of relief when Mets killer Chipper Jones retired. Freddie Freeman has 41 RBI in 40 games against the Mets. The Mets single-handedly won the MVP for Chipper. They may eventually do the same for Freeman.

I never thought anyone would top Sid Fernandez for Mets obesity (not even end of career Mo Vaughn), but no one will ever pass Colon.

Mets are losing because Colon threw away a grounder to him by Freeman. Actually, Freeman fouled it off his foot and even limped out of the box. The umps missed it despite the Mets arguing. Also turns out that fair/foul is not reviewable if it occurs in the infield, so the Mets were fucked. Seems like a completely arbitrary exclusion.

You would think the guy limping out of the box would have given it away.

Valverde valverded again. Now 4 homers last 3 appearances.

Who could look at the numbers and use the eye test over the last 2 years and think Valverde should be pitching in the majors? This looks really bad for the Mets.

Don't see a typo.

I also think that runs that score when a pitcher makes an error should count as earned runs so there is some obvious penalty for the error by him. He gave up a 3 run homer to seal a loss and his ERA went down.

Just as K is damaging his legacy, Sandy Alderson is killing his Moneyball legacy. How does Moneyball net you Granderson, Colon, valverde in one offseason?

I loved Granderson on the Tigers, and then he became a HR/K two-outcome hitter and it sucked. He used to hit singles doubles triples and not K so much.

Turns out Valverde cost them the game.
