NBA

19 in a row at home, 36-6 on the season, wow. Didn't have their A game today but still got the win. Next up, Chicago on Tuesday.

So the Patriots' ball boy and Chad Ford's secretary are about to take the blame and get fired but with hefty severance packages.

Nets and Hornets talking trade of Joe Johnson to Hornets for Lance Stephenson, Gerald Henderson and Marvin Williams. Terrible.

The all-star 3-point contest field:

Kyle Korver
Steph Curry
Klay Thompson
JJ Redick
Wes Mathews

This should go last, after the dunk contest.

I would guess these are similar to Marshall Plumlee's on court/off court splits for Duke. Similar to Davis, Plumlee wouldn't win any awards even if he played 30 minutes a game, because Duke is a middle of the pack ACC team.

Thompson has hit all four of his threes and has 14 points like five minutes into the game. Probably a good time to turn on NBA TV.

Dubs went braindead last few minutes of the 4th. Really need Bogut against the teams with capable bigs, got absolutely murdered on the glass. Oh well, hell of a game. Still can't believe Rose's line and yet in the end he wins the game.

Stoneage, troglodyte post game analysis after Warriors lose 2 point game after going a combined 0/14 from three in the 2nd half:

'jump shooting team can't win it all lol'

if Spurs, Hawks and Warriors winning titles for the next five years doesn't change their mind, we're just going to have to wait for the olds to die off.

Same people who think GS can't win it because they aren't running the offense through Lee and Bogut are the same people who think Rose had a good game:

A win is a win is a win

Davis had the best season by a 19 year old in NBA history (by PER), the best season by a 20 year old ever, and the last I checked he's having the best season by a 21 year old ever. Could be a sign of something.

(in WS/48, he'd be second (to Drummond), second (to Bynum), first.)

Golden State lost because they went brain dead late in the 4th. Both Lee and Curry could've called timeout but neither did and it resulted in Heinrich's 3 to go up 2 with like 7-8 seconds left. GS tied it ultimately but instead of being up 1 shooting 2 free throws, they're down 2.

Also didn't help that they bricked 4 straight free throws that would've pushed the lead to 10-12 points. They had an awful 4th quarter and it showed.

Rose looked awful, made a terrible shot to win it and suddenly there are articles saying Rose showed Curry how to be MVP. Yeah because 11 turnovers and shooting 36 times while scoring 30 points is efficient and MVP-ish. Curry didn't play good either (likely sick with the flu) but at least he wasn't chucking and being a ballhog.

Also if Bogut is available for the playoffs, Golden State will win it all. If he's not, then it's wide open. They've lost 1 game with Bogut all season, like 22 or 23 and 1. Doubting them with a healthy Bogut is dumb as hell. Doubting if Bogut will make it to and through the playoffs, not dumb.

Bill Simmons tweeted he's got the highest PER ever if it ended today. He's ridiculous and only going to get better.

Yeah, like can this really keep going on? Magic and Shaq were in the league by age 20, and Jordan was in by age 21, and Davis is beating those seasons.

I think the great thing about Davis is that he's nowhere near a finished product on offense. I fully expect him to grow leaps and bounds from where he's at now on offense. As he gains more and more experience, his defense will probably get even better too. He's just a freak of nature.

Jordan's peak according to PER was ages 23-32, so Davis should be putting up 32-35 PER each season from 2017-2026. During that time, he will be expected to make as much salary as his fellow future max players, DeMar DeRozan and Jrue Holiday. One of the Knicks or Lakers will likely have both DeRozan and Holiday. The other franchise will have Davis. 50/50.

Irving's 8th or 9th straight defensive masterpiece tonight. Lillard was 5-19 FG against the Cavs. No idea if he's guarding these guys himself, but whatever.

Irving also scored 55 points.

Probably the best all around PG in the NBA now.

#Lancesanity

LT had his third straight game of at least 16 points, and got to do it while leading the Knicks to a win over the Thunder, who dealt him in that same terrible Dion Waiters trade.
