Criminal law is not my thing, but if your goal is to find probable cause and there are questions about someone's death and you know who shot the person, you could probably frame it in a way to get PC. I think the prosecutors framed it more as "look here's what could get you to PC, but here's also why that won't go anywhere. Punt."

Ahhhhh, sneaky. Guess it wasn't the American Bar Association after all.

The whole 11 non-indictments in 162k federal grand jury casesdoes seem crazy, though, right?

It is, but keep in mind, the Feds are not prosecuting things like your day to day burglary, assault, etc. cases, nor do they generally get involved in stuff like rape or domestic violence where there might be obstacles to getting an indictment. Those crimes are generally outside of federal jurisdiction. Federal criminal law is generally limited to stuff like drugs, organized crime, mail fraud, etc. that is thoroughly investigated before any charges are brought.

Lady in Ferguson got shot with a bean bag gun while in her car. The window shattered and glass shrapnel hit her in the eye. They had to remove her eye. That is fucked up!!!

They burned down the church Michael Brown and his family went to. Sounds like a perfect plan to fix the problems going on there.

I thought someone on the Shark Tank pointed out that the National Bar Association is a black group. I don't think their opinion is without bias.
It isn't, but let's not completely disregard that they're a professional organization, either. If White people get accused of mishandling it and the retort is "race card!" we can't very well dismiss a group of professional Black lawyers w/o earning the same retort.

Ferguson police considering charging Mike Brown's stepdad with inciting a riot for comments he screamed out after the grand jury's decision was announced. I can see that ending well...

American history should consist of nothing but stories of superheroes doing great and noble deeds. Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter should be a real text book.

That's the first time I've ever heard of American Exceptionalism. People actually believe that shit?

We have a long history (heehee) of believing in wacky, self-serving crap to justify the American Imperialism that has been going on since we first settled on this continent. Divine Right is still alive and well, we just call it different things now (Like when we "liberated Iraq").

For all the freedom of information we have, for all the knowledge we have access to, Americans still know less about ourselves, our country, and our place in the world than probably any other people. I think that's what makes us exceptional. We're exceptionally ignorant, and damned proud of it!

The Eric Garner story is so messed up. How do you not charge the cops with something? There's video showing them murdering him and still nothing, wtf?

I like how they say that Frontier has a gigabyte service in Durham. It's only in the American Tobacco Complex.

The larger issue is that AT&T doesn't have a presence in Durham already, like they do in some of the other areas. They have been directing people interested in Uverse internet to Frontier for years. I can understand that as a delay to rolling out implementation in Durham, but they need to be building that infrastructure NOW.

Does Frontier do fiber to home for ATC? Or is it some stupid wifi network that you use a credit card to log into.
