Out blows my mind that with all the satellite imagery and technology we have we continue to lose giant planes.

Tough year for the airline industry in Southeast Asia.

That's a rough area to get lost in, too, if it was over land.

How many times has some version of this story happened?

http://www.wect.com/story/27731164/2-year-old-accidentally-kills-his-mom-in-wal-mart

Synopsis: Mom with legally concealed firearm in her purse, shopping in Walmart with "several" children. 2 year old reaches in Mom's purse and manages to shoot Mom dead.

While this is a terrible tragedy for the family, it's yet another example of what happens when every irresponsible, poorly trained individual in the country is allowed to "exercise their right" to carry a firearm every freaking where they go. I'm just glad it was the mom who got shot and not one of the kids or some random Walmart shopper who happened to be nearby.
Gun apologists like to go on and on about how safe and responsible CC permit holders are, and it'd be laughable if it weren't for the fact that real people seem to get killed accidentally about every week by one of these highly trained, safe, and responsible gun owners.

I am not anti-gun, I grew up with a house full of guns and have handled them my entire life. But since Obama took office, the gun paranoia has gone off the charts and all these people have rushed out and armed themselves BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!! and they quit selling guns altogether (or whatever the fuck it is that these people have been led to believe is going to happen). So now we seem to have hundreds of thousands of brand new gun owners out there who don't have a fucking clue how to responsibly own a firearm.

I would love to see the insurance companies start requiring some sort of additional coverage for gun owners, particularly the CC holders. If you've got a CC, you clearly intend to walk around in public with your firearm. The more you carry it around, the more likely you are to accidentally kill or maim someone else. Or to get pissed off and intentionally kill or maim somebody, for that matter. Hell, if they're going to charge higher rates for owning certain breeds of dogs, why not charge more to own something manufactured for no other purpose than to kill human beings? Maybe if some of these people were looking at a couple thousand dollars a year in additional insurance, the lure of gun ownership would lose some of it's appeal for them.

No. Obama is going to take away all the guns. Ask your in-laws.

Gun manufacturers had to be behind the "Obama is taking our guns away" paranoia.

I have acquaintances who bought - literally - pallets of ammunition, at ridiculous prices. Unless you're planning a coup, who the fuck needs 50,000 rounds of ammunition?

And the black helicopters.

In other news, they've recovered wreckage and bodies from the AirAsia Indonesia plane. News just broke that sonar might have detected the rest of the plane at the bottom of the Java Sea.

Killers are now with Allah.

Wonder if Allah will admonish them for executing the Muslim cop. Will probably just let them off with a warning.

I am not downplaying the tragic loss of 4 hostages, but it was a great job by the French police to save the lives of the others.
