My question is sorta tongue in cheek, but I see how it didn't come across like that.

Obviously no system is worth a damn in the long term but we like to think something systematic we did is responsible for a statistically lucky run in our favor. I did the same thing last year. If you actually believe that you end up one of those people sitting at a video slot machine all day with a sack of dollar coins
