As I've stated on this forum a couple of times, I was hoping the last few months that Kamala Harris would be the pick. She does nothing to strengthen Biden's support in the swing states, and she has a very public record to comb through and pick apart. Additionally, given the recent polling trends we've seen, Biden's support among African-Americans is very high and I don't think that adding Kamala Harris will increase that turnout to the point that it becomes significant. She is a very visible and public figure on the Democratic side that IMO will increase voter enthusiasm/intensity from Republicans because she is strongly disliked by Republican voters- lesser-known VP candidates wouldn't have had this issue. Another problem she has is she is an incredibly strong- you could even say an extremist- in her views on pro-abortion. This is a stance that will absolutely come up and not help the ticket in swing states when trying to appeal to blue-collar white voters. Lastly, this doesn't shore up the Bernie bros vote, at all.

For those reasons, which I've held to for the last few months, I'm very please at Biden's selection to make Kamala Harris his VP choice. I strongly believe there is a greater chance Harris will hurt Biden on the trail than help him.

As much as I would've preferred someone chosen that's closer aligned to the Bernie Sanders wing, I just want this shit show Trump administration to end. I'll just cross my fingers that some of the stuff she's been speaking out for ($2,000 a month until the pandemic ends and medicare for all) will actually be part of how she and Biden plan to lead.
 
The best thing for Biden supporters/Trump haters would be for it to become common knowledge that Kamala is a moderate who hates black people. She will be reflexively framed as an ultra-liberal because of where she's from and how non-white she is, which is the risk in picking her. The risk is not that she will be perceived as too moderate, which is probably closer to the truth. Biden has to bank on Bernie/Warren supporters showing up regardless of the VP pick, with the assumption that they might be stupid enough to fail at strategic thinking once, but not twice in a row.
