It is sad that Bernie would be crushing Trump in this general election and the idiotic Democrats didn't just play it safe and go with the automatic win, albeit with some policies they didn't like. The alternative is totally fucked, and they kind of deserve it now.

1) Health care (expansion of Medicaid or better yet universal health care)

2) Income inequality (including but not limited to the raising of the minimum wage)

3) Environment (reduction of waste, move toward alternative energy, bans on fracking, etc.)

1) Lowering taxes for everyone but the very wealthy.
2) Minimizing entitlements.
3) Appointing socially liberal judges and justices.

Bloomberg is probably the only realistic potential President who would get me off my ass to vote. The upside of Hillary blowing this election in spectacular fashion is that really strong borderline libertarian candidates will be motivated to run as Democrats in 4 years.

Oh GMAFB

I have an older relative i just talked to who sounded just like this, told me my GJ vote was basically handing North Carolina to Trump

She's right in Hillary's key demo. Admires Hillary and hates Sanders because he's a "angry socialist weirdo".

I'm supposed to drive her to her polling place to vote since she doesn't have a car. Wonder what the fall out would be if I "forgot". :D

Too bad it's not somehow practical to get thousands of Democrats of means to move down to Florida for a few months in order to vote. The NY Times article I read this morning basically showed it was impossible for Trump to win without Florida.

Even if Trump wins both Florida and Ohio, Hillary can still win if she gets all the other major swing states which she is currently leading in, not including the awful primitive shithole that is North Carolina (Pennsylvania, Virginia, Iowa, Nevada). If Hillary just gets one of Florida or Ohio, she basically locks it up.

Add this to the ridiculous list of advantages Hillary had in his election before managing to blow it like an imbecile: an electoral college map that hugely favored Democrats from the outset.

Which of those blue states is going to flip for Trump? How can Hillary possibly lose this? Everything in her favor and still lose - a pathetic look for her entire gender. We may not see a female candidate for another 20 years after this.

538 has Nevada at 55% Hillary and Pennsylvania at 58% Hillary. Those are Trump's best chances at flipping a blue state on that map. And we're making the terrible assumption that all those red states stay with Trump.

The country still losing its shit over emails while the Russian government is actively trying to influence our Presidential election?

Education: I am a big supporter of public schools, and would like to see more local control with non-binding national standards applied as well. Current evaluative methods, for lack of a better word, suck and are weighted far too much towards test scores. Example: the NC state school report card weighs 80% of a school's annual grade on its EOG scores and 20% on student growth rates, so basically the state's criteria is to weigh one week of a high-stress environment for kids four times more than a whole year of academic work.

Foreign policy: This is a time to strengthen, rather than terminate, alliances for both security and economic reasons. The US does not need to expand the resources to be a lone wolf in geopolitics.

Domestic fiscal policy: Including tax proposals, wage inequality, etc. Broad, I know, but they all do fall under the same umbrella anyway.

I don't honestly know what I "define" as anymore. I've taken numerous quizzes/tests to see where I fall on the political scale, and with scant exception, I fall dead square in the middle once all things are taken into account.

Yeah, the NY Times article showed 4-5 paths to victory for Hillary even without Florida. Trump has none without Florida.

1) Tax/Entitlement reform (would love a flat tax but it will never happen)
2) 2A (but on the opposite side of DSon, I'm in favor of the strictest controls)
3) Weed

2) Minimizing entitlements.
3) Environment

I can't in good conscience vote for either Trump or Hillary. My state will go to Trump just because it's a Clinton running so it won't have any impact except to grow the 3rd party base.

I can't vote for Trump because he's said too much racist, sexist stuff and his running mate is an incompetent bigot. He's also someone with a temper and that scares me that it might get us involved in military skirmishes over nothing.

I can't vote for Hillary because she oozed corruption. For someone with as much experience as her, she sure has a track record with questionable decisions. Yes she's qualified but the cloud of corruption overshadows her for me. I also think she's more of a war hawk (as is Trump) and I'm sick of these damn wars.

So with that being said, I am voting third party. I voted for Obama in 2008, Gary Johnson in 2012 and soon to be 2016.

I believe in following the constitution, lower taxes, minimal entitlements (though not erasing all), limiting foreign involvement (not being the worlds police) and equal rights for all. I am also more environmentally conscience.

I don't agree with everything Gary Johnson believes in or the Libertarian party but they seem to be closest to spend less, lower taxes and respect everyone. So that's why I'm going with him.

I do think one thing that is going to be a lot tougher to overcome is the "Crooked Hillary" angle. Trump has branded her that for months and the more questionable stuff that comes out, it sticks. He destroyed Little Marco, Lying Ted, No energy Jeb with these childish name calling but it worked. Hillary hiring DWS after what has come out has her walking right into a trap he set months in advance.

Prepare to be absolutely disgusted by the voting populace.
Which is filled with actual idiots.

(1) thoughtful, even-handed, intelligent person with a clear understanding on role of executive
(2) likely profile of Supreme Court nominees
(3) vision for how to position America to thrive in new global economy through military and diplomatic alliances

I don't know. He's also gone out of his way to try to gain Sanders supporters by talking about the "rigged' primaries (and tweeting about the leaked emails).

I may be over-generous in this, but I assume Saunders' supporters are smarter than run-of-the-mill Trump supporters, and should be able to see through his comments.

Looking at the election map and thinking about how impossible the task once was for Trump to get to 270, along with this being Olympics time, I am reminded of the greatest Olympics upset in a glamour sport during my life:

You could crunch the numbers all day and never come to the reasonable conclusion that USA had any chance of beating France in that event. This is a sport without crazy variables where anything can happen on any given day, like a gymnast slipping or a basketball team having a cold shooting game. The sport is entirely predictable, much like an election a few months in advance, with the range of likely results being established through months or even years of data points leading up to the event. Then one guy swims the fastest anyone had ever swum in history over 100 meters, by a large margin, seemingly violating laws of physics in the final stretch, while going head to head with the world record holder, and the impossible has happened. To the French, a shocking, unimaginable catastrophe, like Trump winning will be to the USA this November.

I fully expect Trump to be impeached within his 1st term if he wins in November. I could probably be convinced to bet on it.
