My wife is all upset because her coworker/friend was fired this morning for having her concealed carry in her purse while in the office. My response of "Well...?" has me in the doghouse.

Shiiiiit. She's 29 weeks pregnant, and we already have a toddler. We're basically roommates at this point anyway.
 
Hey, now there's an interesting question. So when security came to escort my wife's coworker out of the building, could she have shot them and used the "stand your ground" defense?
 
It must be really awkward to fire somebody that you know has a gun on them.
 
That swell is the same swell that is generating huge waves for The Eddie at Waimea Bay this week as well. It's been a wild week for surf in the northern hemisphere. We had clean, 20 foot surf here on Tuesday, Maverick's is running, The Eddie is running, and the Galicia coast of Portugal/Spain will probably have 50-60 foot or bigger waves this week as well.

It's been an amazing winter. I'm a big fan of El Nino. The last big El Nino I surfed 20-25 foot faces in Central America. Pretty much the pinnacle of my surfing career. I was super fit and ready. No chance of me doing that now.
 
Holy shit! 20 foot at OBX? I wish I was working there this week to see it. I can't even imagine a 60 foot wave in person. The largest I have ever seen and even tried to surf was 10 ft. I was a bad surfer.

Check it out. This was a low tide, and it was already a few feet smaller than it was in the morning, but the third wave of this set is pushing 20. It's 15-18 for sure.
 
Going to be in Durham for at least a couple days in about 10 days, any suggestions on restaurants? I know I will be staying a couple days at the Washington Duke and then supposedly one night in Asheville.
 
I'm not planning the trip, just going for the game so was surprised to hear we were staying at least one night in Asheville. I had assumed we were staying at the Washington Duke the entire time.
 
Asheville is a good 3 and a half hours from here. How long is your trip?
