Television

I just got caught up with the third episode of season 2.

I don't really see any way for that story to play out. They would have to do a TON of stretching to make that story last an entire season. It would make for some terrible television. For the time being, I'm just going to assume the copy of the chip that was taken from Saul has convinced Nazir that everything is on the up and up.

Maybe they turn Brodie? Maybe they kill Saul before he can hand the chip over? I really hope they don't kill Saul.

Homeland played all their cards so quickly, which made for epic Season 1 and good enough beginning to Season 2, but now we wonder how it can keep going. They would have to
turn Brody a few more times to get 2-3 more seasons out of this.

I just don't see them killing Saul. He plays to big a role and he is the bridge between Cary and the CIA. I guess it is completely plausible for them to do it but I would think they would wait a little longer.

Homeland is basically television porn right now. They are giving the fanboys exactly what they want in large doses very very fast
I mean, that hotel confrontation where Carrie called Brody a disgrace was pretty much literally what one could have hoped for multiple seasons in, or in a season finale, let alone the 4th episode of season two.
. Completely unsustainable of course, but it will be interesting to see it play out. Don't think the show could last beyond MAYBE a third season unless they want to go the wire route and rotate in an almost completely new cast.

I'm starting to wonder if that's the plan dson. I absolutely felt like I was watching the series finale towards the end of that episode.

It's a series on Showtime, so you just know this will be the last good season. They seem incapable of sustaining a quality show beyond two years.

Louis CK to host SNL November 3rd

Nice. At least I'll get a dose of him between now and 2014 (since his show is taking a hiatus until then).

I do, however, hate SNL.

They'll transition to the daughter's love triangle being the main storyline, like Hunger Games without the fighting.

Seriously, though, they should try to get a supporting actress Emmy for the daughter, which could complete the sweep of Actress, Actor, Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor (Saul). The wife will never win supporting actress.

When Breaking Bad semi-season 5 ended, I was thinking that the Homeland big reveal would be much more gratifying, since BB's big reveal involved
Hank randomly finding the book while taking a shit.
I figured Homeland's big reveal would
happen more gradually with a more agonizing build-up, probably stretching across the entire 2nd season. I'm very surprised Homeland has gone in this direction where they play all their cards in every episode. Saul randomly finding the video in the bag that Carrie randomly found in the home was not much different from Hank finding the book. Maybe Damian Lewis moves on to a movie career while Homeland gets a new villain for future seasons. The CIA being stupid enough to send Brody out to work for them in catching Nazir is not believable.

Just got HBO for the first time in 6-7 years and this is what I'm watching as I type this

My assumption with Homeland is that
they will basically move into an entirely new story line after this season. Brody will go down, maybe get Nazire, but starting in season 3 there will be a new threat to give them a fresh start. Sort of like a Friday Night Lights deal. Majority of the cast will stay the same, but replace some characters in order to add more content.

"Are you my Caucasian?"

"I like it. But can I make one suggestion. How about lose the motherfucker. Cause you already said fuck before, you don't need two fucks. Instead how about bitch. Cause bitch is like a word for someone you disrespect. "

Well, at least I've got The League tonight.

Homeland has been so amazing thus far, there's absolutely no way they can keep it up.
