Television

Is there any rule against having separate threads for different TV shows? I haven't read through everything here yet, so maybe it's already been asked, but I came just to check it out and saw that there's a lot of talk about Homeland, which I plan to start watching at some point in the not-too-distant future. A lot was hidden by the spoiler tags, but still.

Nope, not at all. In fact, I would use this thread to sort of determine which shows are relevant enough to warrant their own thread. Homeland is definitely one that would work on its own.

Liam will be forever in my good graces for his appearance as himself here:

"I said Steven, I make lists all the time. And he said 'Liam, that's exactly what I'm looking for.'"

The Emmy races for best drama, best actor and best actress all ended with that episode of Homeland.

The subplot with the daughter is now starting to suck, but I suspect they're setting something up that will make it worthwhile later.

Homeland had a ton of dialogue tonight and I wasn't bored in the least bit. I believe it's a credit to their writing that an episode that was largely based in an interrogation room can still be so compelling.

If the show continues past season two with Brody still alive, I have absolutely no clear where they would go from there. I can only think that Brody kills himself in a suicide attack in the final episode of the show and kills Carrie in the process. I love that I have no clue about the direction of the show week to week.

It is being speculated that Community will return to take the Thursday night timeslot that is being vacated by Up All Night (they are switching to a live audience and multicam format).

I'm not much of a fan of the live episodes of 30 Rock, but oh well. Hope it works. I really like Up All Night.

My god I'm a sap.

The ad for the final episode of 'No Reservations' made me teary-eyed.

Just cut my balls off now.

I've had a few shows/movies hit me emotionally recently. Keep the balls.

In “Fakin’ It,” Michael discovers a secret room in the model house which contains a bunch of family pictures and documents but also Tobias’s bodybuilding magazines. Maeby refers to it as her dad’s “exercise room” and George-Michael comments that he always knocks first before entering. In “Exit Strategy,” Michael discovers a secret room in the house’s counterpart in Iraq, which contains a nuclear warhead. So, basically, the Iraq equivalent of the Bluths’ secret room has a nuclear warhead in it, whereas the Bluths’ secret room is Tobias gay porn masturbation chamber.

Mind is blown right now.

Have you ever noticed that whenever GOB rolls up on his segway, he always changes the subject? Effectively making his 'segway' a 'segue'.

Teamocil was discontinued because its use resulted in a complete shutdown of the pituitary gland, which can lead to arrested development.

Pants, that reminds me of a conversation I was having with a friend of mine during the Community Chevy Chase debacle. We both said how fine we would be if they fired Chevy, then did a weekly celebrity replacement, without ever recognizing the change. Have Al Pacino, Bette Midler, whoever wants to, do it. it'd be amazing.
