Between

1) Trump's speechwriter being a registered Democrat
2) Trump's children not voting in the primary due to not registering as Republicans in time
3) Trump volunteering to give the relatively moderate Kasich full power
4) Melania being a big fan of Michelle Obama
5) Trump being friends with the Clintons, and reportedly calling Bill when he was thinking about running

it's tempting to believe that this is a troll job on a national scale and Trump is actually a closet Democrat. If so, it's amusing to think about him panicking when he sees how great his poll numbers are, and trying to say more and more outrageous things to torpedo his campaign, only to have it endear him to his base more. There are likely several satirical political comedies with this exact plot already.

I've thought this all along. It's the only sane explanation.

As for Hillary, the best thing you can say about her is she is an empty vessel with no core beliefs. I really think she can be pushed into any position that's most expedient.

This actually increases my desire to vote for her, provided she has a Democratic congress to work with at some point.

There is actually a really good argument to be made that this is the ideal quality for a President when it comes to domestic policy. I don't subscribe to that argument, but I see its appeal.

Oh, and thanks for halfway standing up to Trump tonight, Cruz. I was hoping one of Walker, Rubio, or Cruz would use the podium, say fuck party unity, and call Trump out. Close enough.

I didn't think that Trump could espouse a more terrifying destabilizing position than his proposal to deport every illegal immigrant and profile muslims. He found it. This might be a million times worse. It is one of the worst things a candidate for President could ever say imo since it amounts to a public proclamation that America is not interested in sitting atop the world order or lending its military or economic power as a guarantee for international stability.:

Porn viewership in Cleveland has spiked since the RNC arrived. So has activity on gay dating sites.

Sexual and social repression expressed as hate...Pretty much sums up the far right.

Make America great again - by sitting back as dictators suppress freedoms, shut down the media, imprison opposition, and seek to (re)build empires.

I think the heads of multiple CNN panelists are going to explode.
