UNC Recruiting

I’m not sure how valid these rumors are. Same thing was said about Wilcher by Jamie Shaw

If he wants to go to South Carolina in 2022 god bless him. I don’t think he will be that good as a reclass in college in 2022.

Carolina fans claiming that GG was on IG live in the last few days reaffirming his commitment, dispelling reclassification rumors. Yet I’ve read three articles today that have all noted that GG is a possible/likely reclass candidate, with most saying that where there’s smoke there’s fire.

IC admins seems to think GG is more likely to just go to a prep school and just declare for 2023 draft. I wouldn’t quite get reclassifying and going to South Carolina. The team is going to suck next year with or without him

You're from Columbia SC and a Top 3 player, and want to go in the 2023 draft. You can either spend the next year 1) playing college ball in front of your hometown fans, family, and friends, and making easily at least half a million dollars in NIL, or 2) you can go follow your former HS coach to rural Mouth of Wilson, Virginia or somewhere for the year. Doesn't seem that tough.

Yeah UNC has moved on. If GG is reclassifying it probably is best he doesn’t go to UNC. If he went to UNC and struggled mightily we would never get a top recruit again. I don’t think Jackson is ready. He’s a good player but I think he’s going to end up having a Harrison Barnes type role in NBA

What's the IC take? Are they all resigned to it? Meltdown? Hatred for GG?
A bit of a mix. Most common take is an understanding that after his great weekend GG may want to try and be drafted next year. A lot of confusion over South Carolina which i get. Ben Sherman and Rell have been adamant since the start of this recruitment/scouting that if he reclassified he would struggle with physicality, strength and hurt his draft stock. South Carolina is supposedly going to to throw him a million dollars in NIL
