While GG himself may not be a huge loss, I do think he was important because he was Hubert's first elite recruit. If GG came to UNC and was drafted in the lottery, that could open the gates for better talent than they've been getting. Not that there's anything wrong with the players they have now, obviously, but I feel like last year was the 99th percentile outcome. You can't rely on that happening all the time.

Yeah, and it's hard to feel like Scheyer really "missed" on this one. His family's diehard UNC fandom was just too much to overcome.
