The majority of UNC's fanbase is huffing a large can of copium. I see a lot of talk about how they don't need him, how they moved on weeks ago, etc. He's the #1 recruit in the country. It's a huge loss and trying to rationalize it otherwise is silly. This isn't a recruit that's a 5-star but ranked #20 or whatever that decided to decommit, he's #1.

If that's true, that's crazy. I'd go to South Carolina too if I was going to get $3 million to play one season of college hoops.

Truthfully, if I were a top recruit, I'd probably just flat out say, I'm going wherever I can maximize my NIL money for my one season since I can't go straight to the NBA. I would have zero qualms about being called a mercenary. For $3 million, you can call me whatever you want, IDGAF, I cashed out.

Plays at Northwood High in Pittsboro. Video isn’t very impressive, but looks like plenty of potential. Apparently his mother is Hubert’s first cousin. I’ll go check him out this year.

I live in Pittsboro and Northwood is my HS alma mater.

They should be one of the state's best teams. They also have two seniors that are 6'11" and 6'9" and among the state's best players for their class. They also have a small but quick guard who's a decent shooter/playmaker.

Drake is a very solid prospect but he is also surrounded by very good talent (for high school). Matt Brown is also a really good coach.

He will bring defense and good length. I think he's a Pinson-Leaky Black-type.

At any rate, the best player the school has arguably ever had and it wouldn't surprise me if they won the 3A title this season.
