So is appointing a 39 year-old Jordanian Royal Prince in his place really the best answer?

Maybe, I have no idea, but it sounds sketchy.

At this point with FIFA, barring a complete turnover, it's pretty much going with someone who's stepped in shit rather than someone who's covered in it. At least Ali has the backing of the reform-minded Europeans.

Those dudes are going to roll on Blatter so fucking fast. Racketeering is no joke. That's real prison time for wealthy businessmen.

I'll drink to that.

28 goals in 4 games at the U-20 World Cup today. Amazing games. Brazil-Nigeria was the pick of the lot.

Inhuman. The man is a freaking wizard.

Even better in Spanish (repeatedly):

Sepp Blatter resigning but will hold office until new election can be conducted in six months to a year. So I doubt he actually resigns.

Their by-laws won't allow the extra-ordinary Congress until at least October anyway.

It's a glorious day to be a soccer fan. I am convinced the Valcke link and smoking gun did it.

Juventus. That's been my club since Conte took over. He's coaching Italy now, but Juventus doesn't make this CL run this year with him because he's so tactically weak.

Was a good final. Darned thing about playing this Barcelona team is that you can't chase them from behind with much success at all. By the time Juve equalized, they were spent.

I love how the Ivory Coast women vindicated FIFA's decision to expand the number of Women's World Cup teams today.
